“Scouting for Peace” Video

The “Scouting for Peace” scroll was created at the Friends Committee on Scouting display in the ‘Faith & Beliefs’ area during the 2013 BSA National Jamboree.

The ‘Faith & Beliefs’ area theme at the Jamboree was “Peace” and the members of Friends Committee on Scouting turned to the Friends Peace Testimony for their display. A large scroll was made available for the Scouts (youth), Scouters (adult leaders) and other visitors to leave their messages of peace.

Before the scroll was taken to the Jamboree a Young Friends First Day Class in Maryland wrote “Scouting for Peace” in multiple places along the 168 foot scroll.

In 2016 a video of the scroll was created . . . so that it and it’s many messages could be shared more widely.

Enjoy! Feel free to leave us your comments about this project.
